Things Emergency Rooms Won't Tell You

What are your thoughts on the emergency room and things they fail to tell you? When visiting an emergency room, you have to be patient, but being patient doesn't always get you anywhere. A lot of hospitals follow strict protocol, in which we as patients may feel that we are being overlooked because someone came in after us and were called back before us. A lot of times this has something to do with the severity of the matter. Some cases may be more severe or life threatening and require immediate care, whereas others are minor issues. We as patients sometimes don't understand that and we tend to get upset with the staff because it looks as if they don't care about us because we have been sitting there for quite some time. In actuality, they are not required to tell you how long it will take to get to you, because they may not know themselves, but based on the symptom you give, that’s what determines the length of the wait time.

Emergency rooms may also fail to mention that shorter wait times are not always better. And that is true because just because they are checking them in and checking them out in a rapid manner doesn't mean that they took the correct approach at correcting the issue. They could be taking shortcuts just to make you feel better about being there, but it could only lead to mistakes later down the line because they didn't take the proper steps to making sure that the issue was resolved. If you are constantly harassing them about being seen because you have waited and waited, then you may be putting a damper on the care that they do provide when they actually see you. The emergency room staff may never tell you that they forgot to wash their hands, for I know if one said this to me it would lead to nothing but trouble. Some things are better left unsaid and this would most definitely be a prime example because it could lead to lawsuits. The hospital is full of germs as it is, so I feel that all the staff should make sure that they are washing their hands after each patient no matter what the symptoms was. It’s just only right. They will also not tell you about cheaper options down the road. I feel that they are not obligated to do so because that could cause them to lose out on money. They will do all they can to gain all the funds that they can for whatever they did for you. I just try to be very precautious when going into the emergency room because by being in the medical field I have learned a lot about how such systems work. Most of it is all about money. Emergency rooms will not always tell you everything about how their practices work so it may be necessary for you to research and take extra precautions if you ever have to visit.

Things Your Boss Won't Tell You

What comes to mind when you hear the word Boss? A boss is the head of the organization or work place. Their job is to make sure that the organization is ran as smooth as possible. Not all bosses are the same. However, there may be some things that will have you feeling that your boss was wrong to do what they have done, simply because you feel that they should have fair warning about everything that is done in the workplace. There are quite a few things that your boss will not always tell you, but mainly the things that they do not tell you are common sense.

For instance, if you are using the companies email for personal use and it just so happens that your emails are being monitored, the boss may call you in to fire you because you should not have been using the emails in such a manner. That is something that you should have used your better judgment on. They do not have to warn you that you may be monitored. You are representing a company and when the email goes through corporate, then that's a problem if it is not being used as it should. Your boss is held reliable in such situations, so therefore, you have to suffer the consequences of your own actions. In other instances, the boss may not tell you that they prefer someone younger to work for them. We see that as discrimination, but a lot of people get turned down for positions because there age may play a factor in whether they are hired or not. That is another thing that the boss may not tell you. Being honest and upfront with your boss goes a long way in the workplace; however, there are few people that tend to abuse such situations like calling in sick just to have a free day. Many bosses tend to investigate such actions because they feel that you are not trustworthy. If they do an investigation and find that you lied, then consequences may follow, so therefore you shouldn't give the boss any impressions that you are not telling the truth. Some may get upset with the boss for doing the investigation and giving consequences but it’s nobody's fault but your own because you lied and they only did what was right. The workload can get messy if everyone is not there to do their part so it’s only right if they replace you because they have to look at what's best for the company. So in all aspects, it is best to use common sense when doing things in the workplace. If it seems wrong, don't do it, because it could lead to actions that you are not prepared for.

Happiness

Are you happy with everything that's going on in your life or are you just the type to settle to make it seem as if you are happy? There are two different types of happiness which is natural happiness and synthetic happiness.

Natural happiness is when you get what you want when you want it. Having the freedom to do anything that you want to do is natural happiness. Synthetic happiness is what we get when we don't get what we want. Synthetic happiness is all about choices.

When given choices, we may feel that we are not going to be happy with the outcome but we settle or "fake it until we make it". When we are left without choices we tend to think of bitter outcomes. That is not always the case though because synthetic happiness can be just as rewarding as natural happiness. Happiness is a choice and I feel that we, as people, choose our own happiness. We shouldn't look for happiness, we should create it. Just because someone sees your situation and think that they wouldn't be happy with the outcome does not mean that you are unhappy. Everybody has their own opinions of everything that others do but we shouldn't let what others say justify our happiness. If we tend to let others choose for us then we will always feel unhappy. I tend to do what makes me happy whether it is a natural or a synthetic happiness. I will not let others choose my happiness.

How to Simplify Your Life

What do you think about when trying to simplify your life? Simplifying your life can be much easier if you plan your life according to what matters the most to you. For me I have a family of my own, so family comes first in my life. My kids matter the most out of everything else that's going on, so that is my number one priority. Everything that I do in life reflects on my kids later in life. When I do things, it’s done to make sure that my family will have a better life. Finishing what I started, such as getting an associate’s degree in Medical Office Administration is something that I have always wanted to do, so I try to make sure that I have time set aside to complete the task without hindering my family and never giving up because as I look back on when I first started, I can truly say that I have come too far to give up. My goal is to finish school so that I can start a career in the medical field, which I feel will be rewarding to both me and my kids.

I have eliminated a lot of things that I was doing when I first started school, because some of the things I feel had no value to me or my kids. Going out was one of the things that I put on the back burner, because to become successful, I feel that some things have to go in order to accomplish goals that I have for myself and kids. My focus is not on that scene anymore, it’s on the things that I can do for my family. I have lost a few friends on this journey because they don't look at things the way I look at them. I feel that if I would have kept on trying to make others happy, then I would lose out on a lot of things for me and my family. The time that I spent out is time that I now spend on my family and my school. I now feel that since I have let certain things go in my life, my life is much simpler and easier than before. It still gets hard at times, but I wouldn't change it for nothing because once it’s all said and done, my kids and I will have the life that I dreamed of having before I committed to bettering myself. Even though I have chosen the things that I do in life, no matter what I do, I still have to remember that family is first above all.

Banksy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BanksyWho is Banksy? Banksy, believed to have been born in England, is a street artist whose identity remains unknown. Banksy began his career in the early 1990s as a graffiti artist. He did a lot of freehand art and then later turned to stenciling. Banksy is better known for his controversial and politically themed pieces of art work. His work is mainly based on slogans with messages about anti-war, anti-capitalist, as well as anti-establishment. Banksy's work of art was always criticizing to some but very different to others. Banksy has several books that show different pictures of his artwork.

Banksy tends to keep his identity unknown but his art is very widely known, with no one even knowing his real name. He tends to keep his identity anonymous because of the artwork that is seen as vandalism, and many thinks that he should be prosecuted for such work. Many people think that his artwork sets negativity for others in the graffiti business. Even though he tends to remain anonymous, his artwork is not anonymous and continues to keep him on the rise. Banksy will always be known as a graffiti artist in the eyes of critics, because that is mostly the type of work which led to his fame. His artwork does give off negativity in some sort, but obviously it isn't too negative because his art has drove him to a lot of fame over the years.

Obamacare

What are your thoughts on Obamacare? ObamaCare, which was previously named the Affordable Care Act is a new healthcare reform law, which was designed to make sure that everyone in the United States has some form of healthcare. Its goal is to provide Americans with affordable health care insurance and also to curb the growth of healthcare spending in the United States. This law will have new benefits, rights, and protection for any Americans, who have experiences issues before with healthcare...Costs are to be reduced, less turn downs and mainly affordable for everyone. This means that those that do not have healthcare insurance because they could not afford it should now be able to afford these services under specific healthcare plans. It is designed to provide stability and flexibility when it comes to your own health.

On the other hand, this law has raised a lot of concerns. This is a mandatory law which means that a penalty will take effect for those who have not signed up by the deadline. A lot of people do not have healthcare coverage because they were not able to afford it. Some have been turned down for Medicaid or Medicare because of the types of jobs they had in the past. What makes one think that this will be affordable now with the way the economy is going. This to me is just another way for the government to come up. One good thing out of this new law is that Obama cares about the health and wellness of others, but it still seems all about money, because a lot of people may be paying these monthly premiums, but may never see the doctor that much and in that case, it seems that the consumer is still losing.
